Waxin’ Lyrical

I dream.

I dream of better days, of happy days, of difficulties surmounted and challenges beaten.

I dream of being somebody, of being more than what little I am, of my head held high and defiant against the callous buffeting of the wind.

I dream of finding that state of inner peace, of looking into the mirror and being content with what I see, of quiet dignity that comes from knowing my place in the world and holding on to it.

I dream, and I dream.

I dream, inspite of the world telling me I should not.

I dream even though I’ve been told that dreaming accomplishes nothing, that dreaming simply distracts you from what you could do, in the here and now, from finding solace in the small victories you can have with little effort.

I dream, and in my yearning to acheive those dreams, I gain strength, I gain purpose, I gain drive and direction.

And I dream of days with you.

I dream, and hope that when I awake I’ll still find you there next to me.

I dream, and I dream of you.
